One of the loveliest areas in England to have your wedding is Surrey.  There are many venues where you can host a wedding that can accommodate you.  The weather is usually mild throughout most of the year in this part of England, although you will want to look towards the months when you have the least amount of chance of rain.

When you decide to have a country wedding in Surrey, prepare a checklist of the following and make sure that you go through it as you plan your wedding celebration:

1.  What type of ceremony do you want?

Do you want to have a church wedding or a civil ceremony?  Many couples today, especially those who are entering into their second marriage, are opting for a civil ceremony.  You can find a venue that will be licensed to perform the civil ceremony if you so choose.  If you want to get married in a church, look for one in your denomination that will allow you to marry in their parish.  Choosing the ceremony is the most important aspect of your Surrey wedding.

2.  What type of wedding celebration would you like to have?

Do you want a small affair with a few friends and relatives or a large party?  Choose a wedding celebration that will fit your personality and your budget.  Many couples are choosing to have smaller and more intimate wedding celebrations that include dinner for friends and family.  Consider how many guests you plan to invite and what type of budget you have to spend on your wedding.

3.  Outdoors or indoors?

Many couples who choose to have a wedding in Surrey want to have an outdoor wedding.  Outdoor weddings can be less costly than indoor weddings but you do have to contend with the weather.  If you choose an outdoor Surrey wedding, have a plan to follow in case of rain.  Discuss this plan with the venue manager.  Many wedding venues in Surrey have both outdoor and indoor plans available and will work with you in case of rain.  Some have lovely gardens where large tents can be erected with or without rain.  If you are planning an outdoor wedding, be sure to discuss options with the venue coordinator in case of rain or other inclement weather.

4.  Music - Live or DJ?

Many couples today are getting a DJ instead of live music for their weddings.  If you are planning a  wedding in Surrey, take a look at the local music talent to see which will work for you.  You can usually save money if you get a wedding DJ to play music at your wedding.  Make sure that the venue can handle whatever type of music that you want.

5.  Accommodations for guests

Be sure that guests who are coming from other parts of the country will have inns or places to stay during their trip to Surrey.  While you are not obligated to pay for their lodgings, you should make sure that there are accommodations in the area so that they can stay overnight rather than make the long trek back home after the wedding.
